Mid Year Cricket Association
We are excited to announce that you can continue to represent the Beaconsfield Cricket Club during the off season. The club is fielding 2 teams in the MYCA (Mid Year Cricket Association) who are affiliated with Victorian Metropolitan Cricket.
The winter competition has grown over the past 4 years from 10 teams to 60 plus teams across Melbourne.
In our first season we have been included in the South East Division (8 Teams) with sides from Keysborough to Beaconsfield.
The side’s furthest travel is Keysborough Secondary College with other grounds located in Narre Warren, Cranbourne and Dandenong Police Paddocks (off Monash Freeway).
So how does it work?
We play approximately every second Saturday afternoon (Approx 12pm to 4.30pm.)
One day games of 35 overs per innings, played on synthetic, all umpired, open aged competition, consisting of registered clubs.
Our home games are scheduled for Donnerley Reserve ( Merinda Park )
There are some outstanding teams amongst some mediocre ones. Russell Arnold (ex Sri Lankan international) has played in previous years.
Who can play?
Anyone!! However, as there is a lot of interest we are going to keep the squad to those over 18 years of age, however, Juniors may make up numbers if required.
Those with a membership of other WGCA / DDCA clubs are more than welcome to join Beaconsfield Cricket Club over the winter.
Ideally we would like a core group of players who will play each week, but that doesn't exclude those that just want the odd game or two.
Will there be training?
Initially there are no plans to train, however, we are considering options of using an indoor training venue.
How much does it cost?
Unfortunately, we do have to cover costs such as association fees, ground hire, umpire fees, ball costs, and afternoon tea. Costs are yet to be determined, however you can expect it to be approximately $20 per game.
How will selections work?
Sides will be selected by a the captain in association with the Beaconsfield Cricket Club winter committee, with priority selections awarded to full paying members.
Who are the winter committee?
For season 2017, James Johnstone will coordinate and represent the club.
Who is the captain?
The captain will be determined based on a vote of paying members. The captain will be announced prior to the first game.
When does it start?
Season starts Saturday April 2017 and runs through to August.

Email Damo (firstname.lastname@example.org ) and express your interest. Ideally, we need a fairly strong squad in terms of numbers to ensure we give our first season a decent crack.
